Inspiring people #1
Some Q's I get asked all the time are...
Who inspires me?
Who do I admire?
Who inspires me in this industry?
Who inspires me?
Who do I admire?
Who inspires me in this industry?
Well, in this post series, I'll introduce you to the people in the television/media industry that have inspired me on my journey.
When I look toward a bit of inspiration and strength these are a few of the folks I think about as I build this company and continue to build this amazing life I have here, back home.
Huell Howser:
This man and his show (see links below) single-handedly, had as much to do with my love and discovery of all things California as did my daily drives through my sales route from Monterrey to Eureka over to the Sierras. He was himself (ironically enough) a true piece of "California's Gold". Anyone ever looking to do regional/local TV should look no further than this man. Output... output... output.. for decades. It was never ending with him and his shows will stand the test of time! In an age before the web this man firmly understood that content is king!

Tom Daldin:
Back in California, through a series of twists and turns of fate (which no one except a people know about), I became slightly obsessed with all things Michigan! It's an incredible state which reaches FAR past the throws of the city of Detroit and the sad issues the poor city of Flint seems be perpetually strapped with. It is really is! And part of my discovery of the state had to do with this man's television show. From Traverse City to Petoskey to Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore, Mackinac Island and the UP along with countless awesome places and towns! The list goes on ad on! This man and his crew put in endless hours to bring his show to the great state of Michigan. He has been a constant inspiration to me as I developed this show and my life here back home!

Eva Sollberger:
The first few months after I moved back home in April of 2014, I ran across Eva. She is a true hero of mine and someone that inspires me constantly! Her show, "Stuck in Vermont" began as a one-woman show and production and her work ethic is just astonishing! She's simply awesome! All I can say to you is to do your self a favor and follow the links to see what she does. She embodies where we are heading in this industry. Resilient, diversified, resourceful, talented and a work ethic that's second-to-none. This woman can teach us all a thing or two about consistently great content creation!

Heather Saffer:
Heather... WHAT can I say about Heather? Well, first of all... she gave me my Mantra and put it out there so concisely... so perfectly... that I should have it tattooed on my chest.
"I’d rather work than play, I’m all or nothing, and nonstop on the go."
BA-BA-BOOOOOOM!!!!
ME... in a nutshell!
This Woman HUSTLE'S!!!
Heather and I possess so many common traits that when I first discovered her on the ABC show "Shark Tank" I was practically standing on top of my TV cheering for her!
You'd have to know both our backstories to know how similar our ideologies and mutual work ethics are (I'll spare you the details... for now) but suffice it to say, this woman just gets things done and does it her way and offers NO apologies!
I can't tell you here, without adding another entire post's worth of writing, what an inspiration Heather has become to me! And the best part is... she's local! Right here in WNY! In Rochester!

Camille Licate:
Last but certainly not least (and only the last of Part #1 of my most inspirational people) is Camille Licate!
I somehow miraculously discovered her through a friend of a friend's suggestion on Facebook. I was told that she creates and produces a Kids show called "Kids for positive change"! So, of course, in a flash... I was at her site pouring through the series and I have to say, it's really great!
On top of producing her show, she probably has the most well-rounded pedigree of anyone on this list today. Believe me now and then go see for yourself, she walks the talk! Just head on over to the links I've provided here to see exactly what makes her such a force of nature!

So there you have it!
Part #1 of the people in this industry who inspire me! I'm happy I was able to help expose them all to you! Please take a look at their work and support what they do.
The world needs people like these and we all benefit from their continued and past efforts! -AA
