SMALL TOWN WNY'S COMPANION PODCAST
A bit about... SMALL TOWN WNY'S COMPANION PODCAST
At the heart of each episode is a great, candid and sincere conversation between two people who are deeply vested in their respective small businesses and I thought it was a great way to start this journey. At its core, sharing our stories and the knowledge we have gained in life is all this is about. ~AA

Way back in the bowls of my life in the early nineties, I was working in my recording studio one afternoon having a great conversion with a repairman as a local band began arriving for a new session. As the band began to set up their gear and instruments, the conversation between myself and the repairman continued as I set up and tweaked my own equipment for the session. The day went by uneventfully, and while we were mixing the new track we recorded, the lead singer and a few other members of the group started asking me if I ever thought of recording these conversations and releasing them online. At this point, I think MP3.com had just recently been released and the web was really in its infancy with such ideas. As musicians and producers of content, we all loved to keep on top of these types of things, and being able to distribute our music independent of the huge, soul-sucking multinational industry conglomerates was a welcome sight on the not-too-far-out horizon. Anyway, a few members of the band I had in the studio that afternoon, kept reiterating how cool it would be to just have some type of show where I set up a mic and just simply talk to people. Any people and from all walks of life. Similar to a Charlie Rose-type show but focuses on everyday people. Because, after all, we all have a story to tell and something to teach everyone. Jump ahead a few decades, and long-form podcasts are doing just that. Discussing all things under the sun with just about every walk of life seems to be the norm now. And while my Small Town WNY TV show companion podcast here is more subject-focused and show orientated, you'll see that even in the premier episode, it comes down to great conversations and great stories. I grew up in a large, crazy, Italian family who owned a long-time, popular family restaurant. So, talking to anyone was imprinted/hard-wired into me from my earliest days. Did I even have a chance? It's all just tapping into the flow of the moment and being present and letting things go where they may. It's not rocket science. Just conversation. And that's what you'll find in all of the podcasts I have planned for the company over the next five years. To me, listening in on a great conversation or story is where I glean my best insights and knowledge about life and I hope you find the same thing in what we have to offer here. We should all listen more. To our hearts, our minds, and to the world and people around us. Everyday. ~AA
